Concerned About Your Recent Electric Bill?
DPUC Representatives at NewMil Bank Offer Tips To Reduce Your Electric Costs
The Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) will be visiting
NewMil Bank branches this fall to explain the changes that are taking place in
the state's electric industry. On October 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., DPUC
representatives will be available to offer consumers tips and answer questions
at the Morris branch located at 5 Watertown Road, at the intersection of Routes
63 and 109.
While stopping by a neighborhood branch to carry out their banking transactions,
NewMil Bank customers can speak with a DPUC representative, pick up an electric
choice brochure, sign up to receive the DPUC's quarterly newsletter regarding
electric choice, and enter a raffle to win a free energy efficient torchiere lamp.
"In addition to the outreach efforts at the NewMil Bank branch locations, the
DPUC is launching a statewide advertising campaign this fall. We hope that these
combined efforts will educate Connecticut residents regarding the changes that
are occurring within this continually evolving industry," said Consumer Education
Outreach Coordinator Donna Devino.
Connecticut's electric consumers have the option to choose the company that generates
their electricity. In addition, the "CTCleanEnergyOptions" program, established
by the DPUC, offers electric consumers environmentally friendly alternatives to
traditionally generated electricity. Consumers who choose to participate in the
program will continue to receive their bill and service from their distribution
company, either The United Illuminating Company or The Connecticut Light and Power
Company.
