Electric Choice Campaign Visits The Oakdale Theater
June 22, 2005
New Britain, CT (June 2005) - The Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC)
brought its Electric Choice campaign to concert goers at the June 21st Strange
Days Festival at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford. Thousands of people visited
the WattsNewCT booth to learn about the changes taking place in the electric industry.
The WattsNewCT team brought along an air conditioner, donated by Bernies, to
give away to a lucky concert goer. The prize was awarded to Howard J. Perkins
of Oxford. Attendees were also offered several free items that displayed the WattsNewCT
logo, toll-free number and web site address.
DPUC's participation in the event was in addition to the hundreds of events that
take place across the state where the outreach team presents information regarding
electric choice.
"We're hitting the streets in unique ways this summer to educate people about
their choices," said Outreach Manager Donna Devino. "We want to ensure that electric
consumers have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions regarding their
electric service."
